As I was thinking about contentment, this childhood song came to my mind.
Serbian Children’s Song
sung by my mother
and oftentimes directed towards me:
Ja se chesto naburim i stanem iza vrata. I se burim, i burim, za dva ipo sata.
[I often pout and stand behind a door. I pout and pout for 2 1/2 hours.]
Onda moja mama me pita, “Ruzice, zashto se burish?” Ja kazem, “Neznam i sama.”
[Then my mom asks me, “Rosie, why are you pouting?” I reply, “I don’t know.”]
1 Timothy 6:6 & 7 “Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.”
