I had a conversation recently about the good in hoping for things, yet not being disappointed when it doesn’t happen. Below are two verses that help me with this phrase…

Lamentations 3: 24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore  I will hope in him.”

Habakkuk 3:17-19a “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet  I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the LORD, is my strength.”

May God allow for us to be hope-filled in Him and find rest for our souls. (Matthew 11:29b)
